Marzipan Squares.

These delicious marzipan squares are absolutely easy to make, as well as make a very fancy presentation for any party.
I love having them around after dinner when you invite friends over.

Note: You can use store bought Marzipan for this recipe... But... On my blog today I have posted the recipe for this Marzipan. It is the uncooked version and very effortless to make.
So before you go buying Marzipan I suggest you pop over to my cake blog and check out this recipe for Marzipan/Almond paste.

Here's what you'll need.

450/500 grams Marzipan
150 grams Bittersweet Chocolate - I use 86%
30 grams Butter
100 ml whipping cream

Place your ball of Marzipan on a surface.. knead it make it pliable (treat it like sugar paste).
Add some powder sugar to help roll it.
Line a small square of rectangular pan with parchment paper. I am using my 7x9 rectangular pan. The smaller the pan the thicker the marzipan squares, and vice versa.
Roll the Marzipan.
Line it in the bottom of the pan.
Cover with plastic or cling wrap and keep it in the fridge while you prepare the chocolate topping.
Melt Chocolate, butter and cream in a microwave on high for about 40 to 50 secs.
Stir well to combine.
Pour over the Marzipan base. Shake the pan to spread.
Cover with plastic again and let set in the fridge for at least 4 to 5 hours or over night.
When set. Lift the parchment paper and take the whole block out of the pan. Divide and cut into squares.
I divide the block into 1/2 then 1/4 then each into squares.
Place on a serving platter. To decorate you could just add a small silver dagree or a small gumpaste flower.
Enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by.
