Honey and Soya Baked Chicken

If you like the combination of honey and soya, you will love this recipe. I personally love this recipe because of how easy it is to put together.

Simple ingredients you always have at home and no hands on time.

Here's what you need:

8 chicken pieces (legs, thighs or both)
1/4 cup low sodium soya sauce ( the other makes it too salty)
1/3 cup Honey
1 minced galic
1 tsp paprika
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 tsp pepper.

Method:
Clean, skin and pat dry the chicken pieces
Place the soya sauce, honey, garlic, paprika, lemon juice and pepper in a baking dish.
Stir to combine.
DO NOT ADD SALT as there is sufficient salt in the soya sauce.

Place the chicken pieces in the marinade, coat well.
Cover with Cling/ plastic wrap and leave (in the fridge) for at least an hour to over night.
Remove from the fridge an hour before you cook.
Preheat the oven to 200 C -
Cover with baking foil and bake the chicken for about 35 minutes basting in between.
Remove foil and bake for further 10 to 15 minutes uncovered.
Do not over bake skinless chicken uncovered as it will dry out.
Once baked it will look this bright brown from the sugar and soya sauce caramelizing with lots of sauce at the bottom.
If you like a thicker sauce - Drain the liquid in a sauce pan - cook on high to reduce and pour over the chicken.
If not - just serve as is.

That's our dinner. Honey and Soya baked chicken, oven baked potato wedges, baked squash wedges and Zucchini fritters. Kids love vegetables when they are baked.. Always taste better.

I do hope you try this recipe. Let me know what you think.

Thanks for stopping by.
